The Pembrokeshire and Ceredigion coastline has some of the most beautiful beaches in the UK, with many of them being award-winning Blue Flag and Green Coast beaches, all within a short drive of Maenayron.
We are incredibly lucky to have so many beautiful beaches within just a few miles of Cardigan. These are a couple of our favourites.
Please be aware that some beaches operate dog restrictions over the summer – check the below website for up to date information.
Aberporth (6.3 miles away)
Aberporth beach is a wide, gently sloping sandy beach, divided by a small headland. It’s a popular family beach, ideal for building sandcastles, creating sand art and exploring rockpools.
Mwnt (4.6 miles away)
Mwnt is an idyllic spot on the Ceredigion coast, with sweeping views across Cardigan Bay from the summit of the conical hill (Foel y Mwnt) that rises above the sandy sheltered beach. The beach itself is reached by steps alongside a tumbling stream. Mwnt is an ideal place for dolphin spotting.
Poppit Sands (3.3 miles away)
At the mouth of the Teifi Estuary, Poppit Sands is a sandy beach backed by dunes. At high water there is plenty of beach but it’s at low tide when the full extent of sand appears to go almost to Gwbert on the other side. It is the start, or the end, of the 186 mile Pembrokeshire Coast Path which takes you right around the coast to Amroth in the south.

Be sure to check the tide times before you go!
