Walks Around Cardigan

The coast and countryside is ideal for walks around Cardigan Bay, and ideal hiking country for all levels and abilities. Both experienced and casual walkers will find a delightful offering of paths allowing you to take in the clean and invigorating coast and country air at your own pace.

The Wales Coast Path is now well established, with clear signing and spectacular walking, especially along the stretch from Cardigan to Borth. The path also offers a range of options for those using buggies and wheelchairs so nobody has to miss out.

The Tourist Information Centre has a wide range of information, leaflets and maps on walking routes around Cardigan Bay and beyond. You can also find lots of useful information on these websites:

Accessible walks around the Cardigan coast

From Machynlleth to Poppit Sands, the towns and villages that dot the Ceredigion coastline offer plenty of easy access seaside strolls, with walks, parking and facilities to be found in New Quay, Aberaeron and Cardigan –plus the wide beachfront promenade at Aberystwyth. There’s also a stretch of Coast Path at Aberporth suitable for wheelchairs – great for a bit of dolphin spotting – and a new accessible route to the headland at Gwbert.
